CPD Frequently Asked Questions

Individuals with an employment-based relationship (owner, founder, employee) are not allowed to control content of accredited CME.

Planners and presenters must disclose any commercial interests (defined as: any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients) with which they or their spouse/partner either: a) currently have a financial relationship, or b) have had a financial relationship during the past 12 months. Non-profit companies, non-health care related companies and governmental organizations do NOT need to be included.

Educational materials that are part of a CME activity, such as slides, abstracts and handouts, cannot contain any advertising, corporate logo, trade name or a product-group message of an ACCME-defined commercial interest.

CPD Portal

Completed disclosures are uploaded to the portal approximately every hour on the hour. So there could be a delay depending on when they filled it out. If it has been longer than two hours, email cme@ohsu.edu

Email cme@ohsu.edu to have a planner changed to a planner/presenter

The reviewer form process is not automatic. Once the reviewer form has been received by CPD, a staff member has to ensure that the explanation provided by the reviewer is clear, and mitigates any potential conflict of interest. This can take up to one business day.
