The leadership team requests that research groups that have benefited from PMedIC internal funding opportunities or other PMedIC support (e.g. collaborator identification, holding of a joint appointment, etc.) acknowledge the PMedIC partnership in their research outcomes. Suggested language is provided, below:
- Annual OHSU PMedIC Innovation Grant: Supported by an Innovation Grant from the OHSU School of Medicine.
- PNNL Laboratory Directed Research and Development: Supported by the Laboratory Directed Research and Development Program at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a multiprogram national laboratory operated by Battelle for the US Department of Energy under contract number DE-AC02-05CH11231.
- Acknowledging the partnership in publications, posters, and talks: This research has been supported in part, by the PMedIC joint research collaboration between OHSU and PNNL.
External funding opportunities
Additional funding mechanisms at OHSU are available to support collaboration with PNNL through PMedIC.
These opportunities are listed here with the permission of the home institution of each award.
Eligibility External PIs allowed*
Award Amount Up to $75,000
Application Timing (approximate) Letter of Intent due March
*An ONPRC core scientist must be involved in the planning, execution, and supervision
The purpose of this funding mechanism is to encourage activities related to developing complementary methods to the use of nonhuman primates (NHPs) for biomedical research.
The term “new approach methodology” *(NAM) encompasses in vitro, in silico, and in chemico technologies and approaches that can be used to complement NHP studies or reduce reliance on NHPs in biomedical research.
Collaborative efforts that include validation of NAMs with an in vivo physiological standard through comprehensive “omics” approaches (spatial transcriptomics and proteomics, single cell transcriptomics, proteomics) are encouraged.
How to apply: Please visit the ONPRC Pilot Research Program Opportunities page for up-to-date information.
