Highlighted Projects

Each year, student teams complete a capstone project, which serves as their culminating experience in their master’s program. These projects are grounded in an organizational challenge, question, or idea. Students work collaboratively under the guidance of their project sponsor and faculty mentor. Completed project inform organizations and aid in their decision making. Often project recommendations become reality over the following few years. Here we explore just some of these projects. 

Connie Amos

Creating a Safe Haven for Healing

In 2022, Connie Amos, M.S., Sr. Director of Post Acute Care at OHSU asked a capstone team how OHSU could better support houseless patients. Specifically, the organization noticed that discharges for houseless patients were being delayed and that they were being seen in the emergency department post-discharge because of a lack of safe housing and services. The Path to Change

A question that kept David Zonies, MD, MPH, MBA ’20, up at night was how to improve critical care services across the newly formed OHSU Health. He decided to propose a Capstone project to explore this further. Read more.
