Portland/Resident Life

Portland City Skyline

Portland is the largest and most populous city in Oregon, located at the Willamette and Columbia rivers' confluence. Outside of OHSU, our residents have the opportunity to explore a culturally diverse city with numerous restaurants, breweries, performing arts, and music venues.

Convenient housing opportunities allow for a short commute to the hospital in urban and suburban settings located in some of the state's best-ranked school systems.

With all of the Pacific Northwest wonders at their fingertips, our residents frequently explore the great outdoors, including hiking in the numerous urban parks and the Columbia River Gorge, ski trips to Mount Hood, wine tasting in the Willamette Valley, and surfing at the infamous Oregon coast. Our city truly allows for exploration during all four seasons.
