Lina Reiss, Ph.D.

Dr. Reiss joined the Otolaryngology faculty in January 2010. She obtained an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University in 1997, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2005.  She became involved with cochlear implants when conducting research in the Hybrid cochlear implant clinical trial as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Iowa. She has a severe-profound bilateral hearing loss, has worn hearing aids since early childhood, and recently got a cochlear implant in May 2020.
