Lina Reiss, Ph.D.
Principal Investigator and Lab Director
Dr. Reiss joined the Otolaryngology faculty in January 2010. She obtained an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University in 1997, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2005. She became involved with cochlear implants when conducting research in the Hybrid cochlear implant clinical trial as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Iowa. She has a severe-profound bilateral hearing loss, has worn hearing aids since early childhood, and more recently got a cochlear implant in May 2020.
