Regional Centers & Programs

Oregon Area Health Education Center (AHEC) has five Centers that coordinate, facilitate and support regional workforce education and training programs. Collectively, the Centers provide statewide coverage and are positioned to respond to regionally-specific needs. Activities support K-16 STEM education, health profession students, and continuing education for health care professionals.

AHEC Centers:

  • Foster networking and collaboration among communities and between academic health centers and community-based centers
  • Serve communities with a demonstrated need of health professionals, in partnership with academic medical centers
  • Address the health care workforce needs of the communities served in coordination with the public workforce investment system
