Oregon AHEC's OHSU Experience day camps offer a free, hands-on experience for Oregon high school students interested in health care careers. Hosted at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Portland campus, this one-day camp features hands-on medical simulations, expert speakers and career exploration in fields like medicine, nursing and research to give students a firsthand look at the many paths in health care. 

We had a great pilot year in summer 2025 and are excited to bring the OHSU Experience camps back in summer 2026! Applications are expected to open in spring. Dates are still to be determined — stay tuned for updates. 

Thanks to scholarships provided by the Oregon Health Authority, this hands-on day camp is completely FREE for all participants.

This camp is open to incoming Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors from Oregon high schools who are interested in health care careers.

• Explore OHSU’s world-class campus
