Oregon Health & Science University has hosted an event for organ donors, transplant recipients, and family members & caretakers to celebrate the gift of life nearly every year since 1994. The opportunity to socialize with others who have been through a similar life-changing experience makes this a much-anticipated event. Activities typically include a catered picnic, group photographs, children's activities, guest speakers and door prizes for participants of all ages to enjoy.
2020 Transplant Picnic
Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, we are unsure if we will hold the OHSU Transplant Picnic in 2020. Please watch our website for an update soon.
Photographers and reporters are expected to attend this event. Photos taken could be used by OHSU and news outlets, and reporters may quote statements made at the event in news stories. Anyone with questions or concerns about this should contact Franny White of OHSU Strategic Communications at email@example.com.
Clinical Transplant Services at Oregon Health & Science University has established several kidney transplant outreach clinics in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho for the convenience of kidney transplant patients. Instead of our patients continuing the long road trips to Portland for their post-transplant care, our physicians and nurses travel to those areas that are underserved in transplantation. We are currently holding kidney post-transplant clinics in Bend, Eugene, and Medford, Oregon as well as Boise, Idaho and Walla Walla, Washington.
Our outreach team also provides community physicians and patients with the education they need to make informed decisions about kidney transplantation. In addition, the outreach team provides a connection with our transplant program. During outreach visits the team provides kidney pre-transplant family education classes as well as hosting medical education meetings with local referring physicians.
For more information about our kidney transplant outreach clinics, please email. To schedule an appointment at one of our clinics, please call 503-494-8500.
