About
Welcome Letter
Welcome to the OHSU Division of Hospital Medicine!
Our Division is comprised of physicians and physician-assistants (PAs) who serve the OHSU and Hillsboro Medical Center communities. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, high-value medical care, outstanding education and meaningful contributions to OHSU’s thriving academic mission.
The DHM was an early pioneer in the hospital medicine movement and has grown into an outstanding group of experienced clinicians and clinician-educators. We partner closely with the OHSU Internal Medicine, Neurology and Anesthesia Residency Programs and train approximately 110 residents annually. We also educate medical and PA students on the wards and in the classroom.
Our OHSU group grew to include our community hospital partners at Tuality Hospital (now Hillsboro Medical Center) in Hillsboro, OR in 2018. Together we serve an integral role in meeting the care needs of patients in our home communities and across the state of Oregon.
Our faculty and community associates are actively engaged in quality improvement, health-care informatics, hospital operations, healthcare leadership and educational research.
We are proud of signature clinical programs, such as our nationally-renowned IMPACT (Improving Addiction Care Team), POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) and Narrative Medicine programs. In addition, we are proud of the outstanding care we deliver every day on our inpatient services at both OHSU and Hillsboro Medical Center, and in our robust, outpatient perioperative medicine clinic.
In the Division of Hospital Medicine, we strive for service to our patients, communities, institutions and to the field of Medicine. We believe in compassion, connection and joy in practice for our providers.
On behalf of my colleagues, I invite you to learn more about our outstanding Division!
