Faculty Registration - Matchmaking

Event Description

Meet up to 8 scholars interested in pursuing research via a series of 10 min interviews via Webex to hire for your next open lab position.  Scholars will be recruited nationally, attracted by local PROPEL postbac programs, including OHSU's.  This event is for you if you can offer:

  • A full-time, paid research position (1 - 2 years)
  • Access to an independent research project (can be in combination with other lab duties)
  • Approximately 10% release time for the scholar to attend professional development workshop, curriculum, and application prep sessions, if admitted to OHSU PROPEL

Participating Insititutions

You must be research faculty at one of the following participating institutions to apply for the Matchmaking Event.

  • Oregon Health & Science University
  • University of California, San Francisco
  • University of Iowa
  • University of Wisconsin-Madison
  • Virginia Commonwealth University

Information Session

Review this recording to learn more about the application process, event logistics, and information about each participating PROPEL program.  We will have representatives from our OHSU PROPEL program and HR present to answer any questions about the event and job posting process, should you identify a promising candidate.

Please note: This event will happen over Zoom and Webex to accommodate attendance from several time zones. You'll need to create a Webex meeting for Jan 30th for the meeting time that matches your time zone (see below) to host interviews and include the link to that meeting in your completed application.

  • Eastern Time:        12pm - 4pm
  • Central Time:        11am - 3pm
  • Mountain Time:     10am - 2pm
  • Pacific Time:           9am - 1pm

When you create the Webex meeting, please also turn on the lobby/waiting room via the advanced settings. This will prevent a trainee from joining your room while you are still talking to another trainee. Please use the following help links to generate a one-time meeting link and to allow guests to wait in the lobby until you can let them in.
