Pediatric Specimen Requirements:

1 mL synovial fluid in a 3 mL LAVENDER top tube.

Reference Range:

Crystals = Negative

WBC greater than 200 cu mm

Neutrophils greater than 25%

Comments:

Includes cell count and diff, and crystals. Clotted specimens are unacceptable for cell count and differential.
