Test Schedule:

7 days a week, 7am to 7pm.

Specimen Requirements:

Preferred: 3 to 5 mm tissue in sterile leakproof container.
Minimum volume is 1 mm tissue or 0.5 mL PJI fluid.

Add sterile saline to specimen in sterile container to prevent from drying out. 
Transport at room temperature.

Pediatric Specimen Requirements:

As above.

Comments:

Stability is 24 hours at room temperature.

Rejection criteria: Additive besides saline in sterile container (ex: formalin), past stability, frozen.

Culture set for Aerobic and Anaerobic growth.
