Specimen Requirements:

Blood: Collect 4 mL blood in a 6 mL LAVENDER top (EDTA) tube or Plasma Prep Tube (PPT), minimum 3mL. Stable for 24 hours refrigerated or at room temperature.

Urine: Collect 5 mL URINE in a sterile cup. Transfer the urine into a Cobas tube within 24 hours. Once the urine is in a Cobas tube, it is stable for 90 days refrigerated or at room temperature.

Pediatric Specimen Requirements:

Blood: Collect 4 mL blood in a 6 mL LAVENDER top (EDTA) tube or Plasma Prep Tube (PPT), minimum 3mL. Stable for 24 hours refrigerated or at room temperature.

Urine: Collect 5 mL URINE in a sterile cup. Transfer the urine into a Cobas tube within 24 hours. Once the urine is in a Cobas tube, it is stable for 90 days refrigerated or at room temperature. If not enough urine is available, Cobas media can be added at a 1:1 ratio.
