Learn about services offered through the OHSU bloodless surgery program in Portland, Oregon.
Why bloodless surgery?
Research shows avoiding transfusion can prevent exposure to blood component contamination, lower your risk for infection, shorten your hospital stay, and help you recover faster.
At OHSU, Patient Blood Management is a hospital-wide effort. A central Patient Blood Management program office coordinates a multidisciplinary team of providers to address each patient's blood management needs. We are committed to the care of all patients refusing blood for religious and other personal beliefs.
Have questions or feedback? Contact our blood management coordinator for more information.
The OHSU Bloodless Surgery and Medicine community workshop is for anyone who
wishes to understand alternatives available in their care to avoid blood transfusions.
