Andrew Dworkin

I grew up in Indiana, then lived in California and Texas before moving to Portland in 1999 for a job. I spent 14 years as a newspaper reporter, covering topics from the defense industry to medicine, before starting medical school school in August, 2010, at age 36 (not the oldest in my class, but close). At this point, I’m very interested in primary care and chronic disease management. I’m flirting with geriatrics and endocrinology. When I’m not at school, I’m often home playing with my 2-year-old son or my 4-year-old corgi, cooking or boiling up a batch of home brew while spinning Jim Reeves and Hank Snow LPs.
