Small Animal Husbandry And Research Services
The AMSC’s trained staff are available on an hourly basis to support small animal husbandry needs including weaning, clipping for genotyping and tagging or identification. AMSC staff can coordinate shipping biopsy samples to TransnetYX for genotyping, providing a streamlined service for OHSU labs.
Research model support
The AMSC’s trained staff are available on an hourly basis to support a range of experimental models, drug delivery and sample preparations. Procedures currently offered by the AMSC include:
- Tumor injection models (subcutaneous, intradermal and intramammary injections of cells)
- Oral gavage for drug delivery studies
- IP injections
- Retroorbital injections
- Retroorbital bleeds
- Tail vein injections
Cost and requesting services
Basic animal husbandry services will be billed at $50 an hour.
Other services (surgeries, injections and bleeds) will be billed at $65 an hour.

Investigators will need to add the AMSC staff to their IACUC protocols (and, if applicable, IBC protocols) prior to initiation of services.
