OHSU Physician Liaison Program

In recognition of the need for effective physician–physician relationships, OHSU established in 2005 the Physician Liaison Program to connect physicians and other members of the region’s health care community with OHSU medical specialists, services and resources.

Physician liaisons serve as personal contacts for community physicians, and their practice managers and staffs to promote the best possible communication and interaction, and to break down referral barriers.

OHSU physician liaisons provide:
  • Information on clinical specialists, and new and existing clinical services
  • Clarification of referral guidelines
  • Assistance resolving referral, access or customer service issues
  • Information on clinical research trials
  • Information on CME opportunities
  • Scheduling of speakers for medical staff meetings/retreats
  • Scheduling of relationship-building activities such as OHSU specialist visits to community physician offices, and community physician visits to and tours of OHSU
  • Other resources such as maps, telephone directories, physician CVs and patient education materials
The OHSU Physician Liaison team focuses on building positive relationships and enhancing the coordination and quality of patient care.  For more information, or to request services or a visit, please contact:
