Curriculum

ROTATIONS

* Blocks are Four Weeks in Duration

 

First Year

  • Family Medicine Inpatient Service – 2 blocks
  • General Medicine (OHSU Medicine service) – 1 block
  • ICU/CCU – 1 block
  • Family Medicine Maternity Service – 1 block
  • Obstetrics (OHSU OB service) – 1 block
  • Inpatient Pediatrics –1 block
  • Newborn Nursery/NICU – 1 block
  • Rural Surgery – 1 block
  • Geriatrics – 1 block
  • Orthopedics/ Sports Medicine – 1 block
  • Leadership Selective/Reproductive Health - 1 block
  • Family Medicine Intensive – 4 weeks

Combined Program - Residents participate in Preventive Medicine Seminars while on ambulatory rotations.

 

Second Year

  • Family Medicine Inpatient Service - 2 blocks
  • Rural Family Medicine – 2 blocks
  • Family Medicine Maternity Service – 1 block
  • High Risk Obstetrics – 1 block
  • Gynecology with Colposcopy and LEEP training – 1 block
  • Emergency Medicine  – 1 block
  • Orthopedics/ Sports Medicine – 1 block
  • Outpatient Pediatrics – 1 block
  • Social Medicine Selective/Reproductive Health - 1 block
  • Elective – 1 block
  • Family Medicine Intensive – 4 weeks

Combined Program - Residents do three blocks of MPH curriculum in the Fall (Elective, Social Medicine, and FM Intensive are removed), complete one MPH course in Winter term and participate in Preventive Medicine Seminars while on ambulatory rotations

 

Third Year

  • Family Medicine Inpatient Service – 2 blocks
  • Inpatient Service Nightfloat/Family Health Clinic – 2 blocks
  • General Medicine (OHSU Medicine service) – 1 block
  • Surgery/Vasectomy training – 1 block
  • Adolescent Medicine – 1 block
  • Subspecialties – 1 block
  • Dermatology – 1 block
  • Elective – 3 block
  • Family Medicine Intensive – 4 weeks

Combined Program - Residents do three blocks of MPH curriculum in the Spring (2 Elective blocks and Dermatology are removed), complete one MPH course in Spring term and participate in Preventive Medicine Seminars while on ambulatory rotations.

 

Fourth Year

Combined Program - Residents complete one year of Preventive Medicine Practicum, complete MPH course work and participate in weekly Preventive Medicine Seminars. Additionally, the Combined Program residents serve as chiefs for the program and lead a monthly one-hour lecture for the family medicine residents.
