Pediatric surgeons at Doernbecher Children's Hospital provide comprehensive surgical care for children aged 18 yearend younger. Surgical specialties include:
  • Neonatal surgery (birth to4 weeks).
  • General pediatric surgery
  • Surgery for cancerous and noncancerous tumors.
  • Trauma surgery.
  • Laparoscopic surgery.
  • Endoscopy (bronchoscopy, esophagoscopy, peritoneoscopy and thoracoscopy)
  • Noncardiac thoracic (chest) surgery.

The pediatric surgery staff are clinicians, educators and researchers. They are involved in many exciting developments in pediatric surgical care. A collaborative team of physicians and nurse practitioners provide our patients with individualized surgical care at all levels, including the most complex and challenging. They work within a dedicated pediatric hospital and day surgery unit with access to all the expertise of a university teaching hospital. Doernbecher Children's Hospital offers:
