The OHSU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is Oregon's only epilepsy program based at a health and research university. The Epilepsy Center provides a full range of epilepsy help for patients; pioneering research and consultation with doctors throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our physicians are experienced in both medical and surgical epilepsy treatment.


What is Epilepsy?

Epilepsy is a condition in which a person has two or more seizures that happen on their own. A seizure is an electrical discharge in the brain that is not normal or can’t be controlled.

How do you get Epilepsy?

Some seizures are caused by a high fever, low blood sugar or another medical condition. Epilepsy seizures are not caused by other health problems.
