The Division of Hospital Medicine (DHM) is part of the Department of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University and is comprised of the inpatient Medicine Teaching Service (MTS), the inpatient Clinical Hospitalist Service (CHS), and the outpatient Preoperative Medicine Clinic (PMC).
The outstanding faculty are characterized by their infectious enthusiasm, boundless curiosity, engaging and respectful personalities, expertise as clinicians and educators, and a tendency to cycle-commute to work. We are dedicated to serving the people of Oregon by providing excellent clinical care, and serving the region and the nation through research and education.
In addition to providing stellar clinical care to patients in and outside of the hospital, our faculty are consummate educators. We are closely affiliated with the OHSU Internal Medicine Residency Program, and our faculty actively participate in multiple ways through the OHSU School of Medicine MD Program including classroom-based learning and 3rd/4th year clinical experiences.
The Division has nearly 40 hospitalist faculty and has been expanding since its formal creation in 2005. Alan J. Hunter, MD, is the Head of the Division of Hospital Medicine at OHSU. Rebecca Harrison, MD, is Section Chief for the OHSU section of Hospital Medicine, and Joseph Chiovaro, MD, is the Section Chief at the Portland VA Medical Center.
The Division of Hospital Medicine is currently recruiting for a Clinical Hospitalist position available Fall/Winter 2017. Please see additional information here.
