Our certified lactation consultants are skilled in helping mothers succeed at breastfeeding. To schedule an appointment with a lactation specialist, please call 503 494-9397.
Lactation and Breastfeeding Services
We offer a variety of breastfeeding services to help you provide the best nutrition for your baby. Services are available seven days a week. Please call 503 494-9397 to get help over the phone or to schedule an appointment.
- Prenatal Consultations – We welcome you to make an appointment before your baby is born to learn how breastfeeding works and discuss your questions with our expert staff.
- In-hospital Support – During your hospital stay, your nurse will help you help you get started in breastfeeding. If things are not going smoothly, a lactation consultant is available to come to your room to help you.
- Follow-up Support – Many women leave the hospital before (or just as) their milk comes in so this help after your hospital stay is very important. If needed, we provide 2 complimentary appointments with our lactation consultants after you leave the hospital.
- Urgent Consultations – Call our lactation department for your urgent problems. We are here to help you!
- OHSU Employee Lactation Support – We support breastfeeding mothers in the workplace.
