Prospective Students

The Department of Medical informatics and Clinical Epidemiology (DMICE) at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has the unique opportunity to bring together various disciplines to drive innovation in biomedicine including: clinical informatics, computational biology, and health information management

The Biomedical Informatics program welcomes prospective students interested in clinical informatics, bioinformatics, and health information management to learn more about these tracks. Those interested in pursuing a Master’s program or Graduate Certificate in the Biomedical Informatics require a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, biology, biochemistry, nursing, mathematics, statistics, physics, information management, a health-related field or a similar discipline. Students applying to the Master’s or PhD program are required to take at least one introductory course in computer programming before entering the program. Other prerequisites vary depending on which of the following tracks is chosen: Clinical Informatics, Bioinformatics or Health Information Management (HIM).
