Visiting Students

Requirements for Admission

Visiting student applications are  accepted only from medical students who are in their fourth year of medical school and in good standing who are:

• Receiving an M.D. from a school which is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
  

• Receiving a D.O. degree from a school which is accredited by the Education Department of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)

If you do not meet these requirements, you are not eligible for a visiting student rotation at Oregon Health & Science University. Third year students are not accepted.

• I am a Medical Student from a LCME accredited institution or an Osteopathic Medical Student from a COCA accredited AACOM college

• If you are a student from a LCME accredited Canadian Medical School, please contact our offices.

OHSU requires a criminal background check on all visiting students. If your application is accepted, we will provide you with the necessary additional information. Students will not be allowed to begin a rotation until the criminal background check has been completed.
