A culture of collaboration and innovation

Our mission: To cultivate and support innovative partnership opportunities for OHSU researchers.

The School of Medicine develops strong relationships with industry and academic partners, enabling productive collaborations that support innovative technology platforms, complement faculty expertise and enhance research programs across the school.

Our work with

  • Oregon State University
  • Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
  • Portland State University
  • University of Oregon
  • VA Portland Health Care System

and others fuel biomedical discovery in the Northwest.

An example of a valued alliance partner is the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). PNNL is a world-class facility for mass spectrometry and quantitative phosphoproteomics, ion mobility-based separations, metabolomics and integration of “-omic” datasets.

Our office also works closely with the OHSU Technology Transfer and Collaborations and Entrepreneurship Office as well as OHSU centers and institutes on strategic planning and development initiatives, with the ultimate goal of identifying and realizing commercial opportunities for OHSU’s innovations. Our faculty possess leading-edge expertise in molecular imaging, computational biology, neuroscience, precision medicine, rare diseases, cardiology and more.

Pacific Northwest Biomedical Innovation Co-laboratory

OHSU and PNNL are improving their collaborative research environment through the OHSU-PNNL Pacific Northwest Biomedical Innovation Co-laboratory, or PMedIC. PMedIC will enhance researcher and trainee access to technologies, expertise and opportunities to advance the science at both institutions through the generation, interpretation, and integration of multidimensional omics and imaging data as it relates to understanding disease and developing innovative therapies.
