About me

Dr. Andrea Herzka is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of sports injuries: primarily injuries to the knee, shoulder and hip regions. Her areas of interest include: ACL reconstruction and revision surgery, as well as surgical treatments for kneecap dislocations, shoulder instability and dislocations, rotator cuff injuries, labral injuries in the hip, and hip preservation.

Dr. Herzka attended medical school in her hometown San Francisco at UCSF, then did residency at Johns Hopkins University and Sports Medicine sub-specialty training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where she assisted in caring for the Pittsburgh Steelers and other high level professional and college athletes. She spent additional time training in hip arthroscopy prior to joining the OHSU faculty.

Dr. Herzka values open communication that fosters inclusivity as well as mutual respect and understanding in the doctor-patient relationship.

Dr. Herzka serves as the director of OHSU orthopedic resident arthroscopic simulation training as well as team doctor for Beaverton High School. She is an active member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA).
