Diagnostic Services: Through OHSU Lipid-Atherosclerosis Lab

The diagnostic testing for Smith-Lemli-Optiz syndrome, cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (CTX), and sitosterolemia is offered by the Lipid-Atherosclerosis Laboratory (Director: P. Bart Duell, MD). The diagnostic testing is carried out in conjunction with the research effort and the clinical care provided at OHSU. The laboratory directors and staff can provide timely results and interpretations of diagnostic tests. In addition, if desired by the patient, their families or primary care providers, follow-up clinical, research, and support services are available.

The laboratory is certified by the Department of Health and Human Services under CLIA ID # 38D06-56829 and Federal ID# 93-0608012. The laboratory staff participates in the quality assurance and proficiency testing program offered by the College of American Pathologists.
