Surgery for Parkinson’s Disease
Based on how severe your condition is and your medical profile, your doctor may suggest surgery as one treatment option for Parkinson's disease. There are several different surgeries for Parkinson's disease, including DBS (deep brain stimulation).
Deep brain stimulation involves surgery to put a device similar to a pacemaker in your chest and electrodes in areas of your brain that control movement. The device sends mild electrical signals to specific parts of your brain to help reduce abnormal movements.
