Rotations and Electives
All residents spend a minimum of four months on the anesthesia service. An elective month may be available during the 5th year of the program during which time you are on general surgery rotation or previous residents have utilized this for extramural experience either within the United States or abroad.Application Requirements
All applications must be made through PASS (Postdoctoral Application Support Service). All applicants must have graduated from an ADA accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school. All applicants must have citizenship or resident alien status with a green card indicating they are a permanent resident of the United States. Resident aliens are encouraged to have at least one year of full-time college work at a university or college in the United States. Resident aliens are more competitive if they can speak English fluently. Applicants are selected for admission regardless of race, religion, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity expression, military service or any other status protected by law.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to arrange to have three letters of recommendation forwarded through PASS. One must be from the Dean of the dental school the applicant attended. If a general practice residency, internship, fellowship or other postdoctoral training has been completed or is currently being completed, it is required that one of the letters be from the director of the program. Transcripts from your dental school are also required and should be submitted to PASS. Applications will not be considered complete unless all the required material is received.
Do not send your application directly to the OMFS department at OHSU. All of the required application information must be acknowledged through PASS.
A COMPLETE PASS APPLICATION INCLUDING ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION, OHSU'S SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION AND FEE, MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS AND STUDENT AFFAIRS BY OCTOBER 1, 2009.
