Please see below for information about the availability of commonly-requested software packages.  Use the technical support links provided for each product if you need help with installation or have other questions. 

Centralized software purchasing at OHSU is generally handled by ITG or the Provost’s Office.  If you would like to make a request for an institutional license for software, please submit it to the Academic Technology Work Group of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee.

Adobe Creative Cloud provides users access to a variety of software used for graphic design, video editing and web development.

At this time, Adobe CC is available on one computer on the 4th floor of the OHSU Library at the BICC (the 24-Hour Space).

ATLAS.ti is a qualitative data analysis and management tool that helps users to systematically arrange, reassemble, and manage large bodies of textual, graphical, audio and video data. 

At this time, ATLAS.ti is available on one computer on the 4th floor of the OHSU Library at the BICC (the 24-Hour Space).

EndNote is bibliographic management software that allows users to manage citations in personal libraries and create bibliographies based on a number of available journal or writing styles.

Express Scribe Transcription Software, along with a foot pedal, are available on one computer on the 4th floor of the library in the BICC (the 24-Hour Space).

All OHSU employees and students have free access to LinkedIn Learning's extensive subscription library thanks to a partnership between ITG, OHSU/AFSCME Labor Management Committee (LMC) and the Career and Workplace Enhancement (CWE) Center.

NVivo (produced by QSR International) is a software program used for qualitative and mixed-methods research. Specifically, it is used for the analysis of unstructured text, audio, video, and image data, including (but not limited to) interviews, focus groups, surveys, social media, and journal articles.

At this time, NVivo is available on one computer on the 4th floor of the OHSU Library at the BICC (the 24-Hour Space).

Access to Office 365 is now available to all OHSU students. Students may install the Office desktop applications on their personal devices and use them during the duration of their time at OHSU. Access to Office 365 along with troubleshooting information and links to Microsoft support can be found on the 365 Learning Portal.

RStudio is a free and open-source integrated development environment (IDE) for R (GNU S), a programming language for statistical computing and graphics. It is very similar to the S system and is capable of a wide variety of analytical tasks such as: linear and nonlinear modelling, statistical tests, time series analysis, classification, and clustering. It runs on most platforms and is a great tool for those supporting Open Science.  For more information, please visit:  https://www.rstudio.com/.

SAS Statistics is a software package used for statistical analysis.  The software is licensed only for academic purposes. Please note this program is also available for use on general computers in both the BICC and LRC.

Obtaining SAS Software: 

OHSU no longer provides access to SAS 9.3, and SAS will no longer be supporting this version as of January 2023.  Please contact SAS at the number below if you need help upgrading your software.

Installing SAS: Please follow these instructions

License Files: SIDs valid for August 14th, 2022 - August 14th, 2023:

To obtain the latest SAS license, use the following links (be sure to use the correct file for your specific computer's operating system):

  1. Download the ZIP archive containing the SAS version you are attempting to license:
     

    SAS 9.4 Windows 32-Bit: Use license file "SAS94_9CRJKB_70009216_Win_Wrkstn.txt" from SAS94_Renewal_AUG142023.zip

    SAS 9.4 Windows 64-Bit: Use license file "SAS94_9CRJKB_70081284_Win_X64_Wrkstn.txt" from SAS94_Renewal_AUG142023.zip

    SAS 9.4 Window Server 64-Bit: Use license file "SAS94_9CRJKB_70132158_Win_X64_Srv.txt" from SAS94_Renewal_AUG1142023.zip

  2. Uncompress the ZIP archive and select the correct SID License file when asked by the Renew SAS Software utility (For help on how to Unzip a file in Windows please read the Zip and unzip instructions).
  3. For more information on using the Renew utility and how to apply license files to your SAS deployment please read the license file renewal instructions.

SAS Bridge for Esri - Release 3.6 for ArcGIS 10.1

SAS® Bridge for Esri combines the power of SAS with the spatial analysis and cartographic capabilities of Esri's ArcGIS suite. With the depth and breadth of both SAS and Esri, customers are better equipped to explore, understand, analyze and deliver sound spatially-enabled business intelligence.

The SAS Bridge for Esri is a point-and-click interface between ArcGIS 10 and Base SAS® and provides foundation level linkage between the two platforms. .NET classes are provided for customers to develop their own interface and applications. The SAS Bridge for Esri allows for the import and export of both attribute and coordinate data from point, line, polygon, and raster features from ArcGIS to SAS.

Note: This software is intended as a replacement for an existing earlier version of SAS Bridge for Esri. Do not use this software to perform a new installation of SAS Bridge for Esri on a machine on which it has not been installed previously.

If you are installing SPSS for a class you are taking, please confirm that your instructor has contacted the Library at: library@ohsu.libanswers.com

  3. Authorizing/Renewing SPSS License:
    • The SPSS License requires renewal once a year.
    • Do not start the authorization or renewal process while on the OHSU VPN. Authorization will fail.
    • Be sure to select "Authorized user license" when using the License Authorization Wizard. 
    • The current version's (29) License Authorization Code can be found at the Library’s SharePoint site.
    • Please note that the licenses are valid until Oct. 31, 2024 and will continue to be available for 30 additional days.
    • If you have problems licensing the Mac version of SPSS please see these instructions for a possible solution.
  4. Troubleshooting tips for installation errors
    • Make sure you are off the VPN.
    • Verify the license code matches the current version on your computer.
    • Reboot your computer and try again.
    • Uninstall and reinstall the program from the beginning.
