Administrative Fellowship

The Administrative Fellowship in Emergency Medicine and concurrent recommended Healthcare MBA program develops the essential skills needed in clinical operations, quality improvement, and financial management to prepare fellows for positions as emergency department medical directors and hospital administrative leaders.

Background

Emergency departments and hospitals have a growing need for residency-trained, emergency physicians to fill clinical leadership roles in emergency departments, quality management, clinical informatics and other hospital based administrative roles.

Objective

To develop the essential skills of future emergency medicine leaders through practical experiences at OHSU in clinical operations, quality improvement, clinical informatics, service excellence, and financial management.

Requirements

The fellowship requires a two-year commitment to complete.

Associated Healthcare MBA program is a three year commitment and the third year is not part of the fellowship. Certificate programs have a shorter time commitment to complete and can be completed within the two year fellowship.
