OCTRI Awardee Improves Blood Testing for Pediatric Patients

OCTRI's BIP Awardees, Amira Al-Urzi and Dennis Koop, OCTRI's Biomedical Innovation Program (BIP) funded a project, focused on improving methods for blood tests in pediatric patents. OCTRI funded investigators Amira Al-Uzri and Dennis Koop to develop a prototype device which has successfully completed the design and evaluation process. Read more on the OHSU Blog.

Promising Vaccine Technology to be used in HIV Trials

Vaccine technology developed by Louis Picker's team at the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute at OHSU has been acquired by Vir Biotechnology, a San Francisco-based biotech start up. The vaccine platform will be used in an HIV Phase 1 clinical trials at OHSU. OCTRI has been involved in the pilot study, headed by Dr. Marcel Curlin, that will be used to inform the design of the Phase 1 trial.
