Credit Unions for Kids Professor of Pediatric Research

Dr. McEvoy’s special interests focus on in-utero and early life interventions designed to maximize fetal lung development and childhood pulmonary function in the face of adverse factors, including maternal nicotine use, maternal obesity, and prematurity. She is an expert in neonatal and infant pulmonary function testing, the performance of randomized clinical trials, and cohort retention in longitudinal studies.

Dr. McEvoy received her MD. From Loyola University in 1995 and completed her Pediatric residency at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles, California in 1998, followed by a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at LAC-USC Medical Center in 1991. She was then in a private neonatology practice during her husband’s time in the military in Pensacola, Florida. During this time, she was also the Medical Director of the Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart Hospital.  She joined OHSU in 2000 and is currently a practicing neonatologist, the Director of Child Health Research, Department of Pediatrics, the Director of Neonatal Research, Neonatology Division at OHSU.
