The KurreLab focuses on the study of hematopoietic stem cells and the bone marrow microenvironment. Using a model of Fanconi anemia, we study hematopoiesis and explore retroviral delivery for the stable genetic modification of long-lived stem cells as a treatment for bone marrow failure. Our leukemia-focused work aims to understand the role of membrane -derived microvesicles in the crosstalk between leukemic cells and their surrounding microenvironment and its impact on extrinsic drug resistance.
