About
Graduate Medical Education (GME) is one of the central missions of Oregon Health & Science University. Graduate Medical Education training programs are offered in virtually all fields of medicine, as well as dental residencies, including Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery.
OHSU and the Portland VAMC are the major clinical teaching facilities of OHSU for undergraduate and graduate medical education . The patient care and teaching programs at the university and the Portland VAMC are under the direction and supervision of OHSU faculty. House staff participate in the care of patients in the hospitals and gain additional experience in community hospitals, which have affiliated teaching programs under the direction of the OHSU School of Medicine.
The Office of Graduate Medical Education coordinates house staff appointments and assignments. The office also assists in assuring excellence in the training programs and in serving prospective, current and past residents and fellows.
Detailed information regarding GME for a particular program or residency can be obtained by contacting the appropriate program director or coordinator.
