This course is designed for practicing endocrinologists and primary care providers. The topics selected are common clinical problems that have resisted clear resolution. Leading experts have been gathered to discuss these issues in a casual atmosphere in order to promote open debate and clarification of the issues. All participants including faculty and trainees should benefit.
At the conclusion of this course participants will:
- Understand the clinical presentations, differential diagnosis, and evaluation of patients with elevated prolactin levels.
- Be familiar with current guidelines for therapy of DI and SIADH, particularly the appropriate use of AVP receptor antagonists (vaptans) , and how their use differs depending on the etiology of the disorder, the duration of the disorder, and the presence of neurological symptoms.
- Have a greater awareness of the new drug treatment of type 2 diabetes, including mechanism of action in therapy.
