Internal Scholarships for OHSU School of Medicine Employees
We are pleased to announce that the OHSU School of Medicine is offering a limited number of scholarships to OHSU School of Medicine employees who apply for, and are accepted into, the OHSU Division of Management's Healthcare Management programs. We have offered this scholarship program for four years and the feedback from our participating employees is very positive.
School of Medicine scholarships are available to employees entering the following programs in fall 2012:
· Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management
· Master of Science in Healthcare Management
· The OHSU/PSU MBA in Healthcare Management
The Healthcare Management programs are designed to increase participants' understanding of the theories of healthcare management in a complex, dynamic marketplace while focusing on aspects of practical application. The OHSU School of Medicine endorses these programs as strategic talent management and development tools for outstanding employees who have demonstrated success in their current positions and potential for future growth in the School of Medicine.
To be considered for one of these scholarships, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree, and
- A minimum of .8 FTE employed in the School of Medicine,
- and Demonstrated leadership aptitude, ability, and initiative as evidenced by:
- high levels of performance in current role
- serving in a lead role on assigned projects
- serving on organizational committees and task forces
- proactive efforts in improving unit, department or organizational performance
- serving in an interim capacity in the absence of a leader
Applicants for the scholarships must be nominated by their Supervisor. Applicants must also apply for admissions and be accepted into one of the healthcare management programs at OHSU's Division of Management.

Internal Scholarships for OHSU Healthcare Employees (Hospitals & Clinics)
OHSU Healthcare is again offering scholarships to subsidize healthcare employees who apply for, and are accepted into, the OHSU Division of Management's Healthcare Management Graduate Certificate Program. These scholarships are available for the program commencing in Fall 2012.
The Healthcare Management certificate program is designed to increase participants' understanding of the theories of healthcare management in a complex, dynamic marketplace while focusing on aspects of practical application. OHSU Healthcare endorses this program as a strategic talent management and development tool for outstanding employees: those who have demonstrated the attributes of a successful OHSU leader.
To be considered for one of these scholarships, applicants must meet the following requirements:
· Bachelor's degree, and
· One year's work experience in the OHSU healthcare setting, and
· Demonstrated leadership aptitude, ability, and initiative as evidenced by:
- High levels of performance in current role
- Serving in a lead role on assigned projects
- Serving on organizational committees and task forces
- Making suggestions for improved department/organizational performance
- Serving in an interim capacity in the absence of a leader
