Visiting Medical Students from LCME Accredited Medical Schools and Osteopathic Medical Students from COCA accredited AACOM colleges
Oregon Health & Science University will be using VSAS, the Visiting Student Application Service, to receive visiting student applications for the 2012-2013 academic year. Applications may be submitted through VSAS starting on May 1, 2012. To apply to our school please complete and send us a VSAS application for your preferred electives and dates. For more information on VSAS, please visit www.aamc.org/vsas or contact VSAS at vsas@aamc.org or (202) 478-9878. Paper applications will not be accepted.
Visiting student applications are only accepted from students in their fourth year of medical school and in good standing who are receiving an M.D. from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)accredited institution or a VSAS participating COCA accredited AACOM member colleges. Students must have completed all core clerkships prior to requested elective dates to be considered for a rotation at OHSU.
- Applications will not be accepted before May 1, 2012.
- Students will be notified through VSAS after June 1, 2012 of all decisions.
- Photo, CV, medical school transcript and immunization records are all required elements of the application and must be submitted through VSAS.
- Upon your acceptance of the rotation in VSAS, a non-refundable $75.00 processing fee will be charged.
Availability of rotations cannot be confirmed by telephone or email.
Below are links to the 2012-2013 Clinical Clerkship Schedule, information regarding the availability of clinical electives at Oregon Health & Science University and/or affiliated hospitals and a Immune Status Form. This form must be received prior to the start date of your elective.
OHSU requires a criminal background check on all visiting students. If your application is accepted, we will provide you with the necessary additional information. Students will not be allowed to begin a rotation until the criminal background check has been completed.
All applications must be received at least 30 days prior to the start of the requested rotation. Applications received less than 30 days in advance will be charged a $100.00 late application fee. No application will be considered if received less than14 days prior to the requested start date.
