MD/PhD Training Program

OHSU’s MD/PhD Program is designed for students with interests in both biomedical research and clinical medicine. Our goal is to provide an environment in which students will obtain the breadth and depth of training needed to excel as both physicians and scientists.

Comprehensive Training

Our program offers superb training in a wide range of scientific disciplines and laboratories, and also includes a structured exposure to Clinical and Translational Research through our NIH-funded Clinical Translational Science Award. In addition to four years of study in our MD Program, students may choose to pursue graduate level research training in a variety of fields including Molecular and Cellular Biosciences, Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology, and Quantitative Biosciences &  Biomedical Engineering.  Please see our Curriculum page for more information.

Information Session

For people interested in applying to OHSU's MD/PhD program we have regularly scheduled information sessions. They're two hours long and occur on Wednesdays. There is one scheduled  on December 10 at 11am. Please email , MD/PhD Program coordinator to reserve a spot. Space is limited. These sessions include lots of time to ask questions, and attending the journal club.
