Dr. Clarke is President of the American Board of Hypnosis in Dentistry and an approved Consultant for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.He has served that organization as a member of the Executive Committee, numerous committee assignments and part of its national teaching faculty for over 20 years.He has conducted research, authored numerous articles on dental history and book chapters on Regional Anesthesia, History of Anesthesia in Oregon and Clinical Hypnosis.In 1991 he received the Milton H. Erickson Award for Scientific Excellence for his research and writing on Hypnosis.
He has received numerous awards as an outstanding instructor.
