Toxins in Everyday Life
Fred Berman, DVM, PhD, will talk about toxins that Oregonians may come into contact with in everyday life. He'll explain what parents should worry about and what should not raise significant health concerns. He will also address many of the recent controversies in the news surrounding toxins such as the concern about chemicals in plastic bottles that may or may not impact human health.
Dr. Berman serves as director of the Toxicology Information Center in the Center for Research on Occupational Environmental Toxicology at OHSU. The information center responds to business inquiries about the potential hazards to employees from exposure to chemicals and other agents. The goal is to provide up-to-date, unbiased information in a form that is understandable and useful.
