Kids Making Miracles
It began as a simple coin drive in one area elementary school. Today, 16 years later, hundreds of area K-12 students at schools throughout the region have helped the Kids Making Miracles (KMM) program raise more than $5.4 million to date for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. In the process they have learned valuable lessons about the value of philanthropy in a new generation of Oregonians.
Every year, KMM engages kids in community-based fundraising programs across Oregon and Southwest Washington. Through everything from bake sales to pageants, KMM kids are raising serious money for the hospital. What’s more, they are developing their own organizational and communication skills while gaining early exposure to the power of philanthropy to help others in need.
Money raised through Kids Making Miracles has supported everything from helping kids with cancer, heart disease, cystic fibrosis and organ transplants to hospital construction. Revenue from the 2007-2008 Kids Making Miracles program will benefit Doernbecher’s unrestricted fund. Unrestricted gifts are vital to Doernbecher, providing the flexibility to address immediate children’s health care needs and take advantage of unanticipated opportunities.

A special thanks to our program sponsor:
2007-2008 Title Sponsor

Because of their generous support, 100% of the funds raised in the schools goes directly to the hospital.
