Cancer

Faculty within the OHSU Doernbecher Cancer Biology Program aim to understand the principles that drive childhood cancer to improve diagnostic and therapeutic options for children. Our research faculty are closely aligned with clinical faculty in the Doernbecher Cancer and Blood Blood Disorders Programs, and several Physician Scientist Faculty provide care for patients.

Scientifically, faculty research programs are integrated with the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and the Oregon Stem Cell Center providing extensive resources and expertise. We have access to a wide array of technologies through OHSU cores and affiliated institutes and extensively collaborate with investigators with the Cancer Biology and Translational Oncology Programs at the Knight.

Given our close connections with clinical faculty, we participate in the laboratory training of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Fellows, many of whom seek advanced training during years 2 and 3 of their fellowship, with several going on to become active researchers themselves.
