We recommend registering for classes by the fourth month of your pregnancy, as classes fill quickly. The goal is to complete all prenatal classes at least one month before delivery. Let us know if you need special accommodations to participate.
If class dates are unavailable, please contact us to be placed on a wait list.
Class fees include registration for the expectant mother and her support person, unless otherwise indicated. Many health insurance companies will reimburse some or all of the cost of childbirth education classes.
When you complete your class, request a certificate of completion from your childbirth educator. Send it to your insurance company, along with receipt of payment, for reimbursement. Please check with your health insurance provider for more details.
Cancellation and refund policy
For classes not canceled by OHSU, refunds or transfers of class(es) must be requested at least five (5) business days prior to the first day of class. Refunds or transfers will not be granted when requests are made after this time. If a class is under enrolled and needs to be cancelled, you will be notified at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule.
Insurance claims and billing information
Many of the courses offered through the Early Parenting and Childbirth Education Program at the OHSU Center for Women's Health are covered by medical insurance. Reimbursement depends entirely on the participant's insurance plan guidelines. The OHSU Center for Women's Health does not offer any guarantee of coverage. For more information on submitting a claim, please review the insurance claims and billing information guidelines.
