Vaginal Contraceptive Ring Study
Why is this study being done?
This study is being done to investigate how effective a new investigational vaginal contraceptive ring is at preventing pregnancy. There is currently only one vaginal contraceptive ring that has been approved for use by the FDA in the United States - the Nuvaring, which requires using a new ring each month. This study ring is part of a series of longer use vaginal rings containing Nestorone and ethinyl estradiol for pregnancy protection. This particular ring is a 90 day version that may be used continuously for 90 days or with a monthly 2 day bleeding period. We are also interested in how this ring affects your menstrual cycles and bleeding patterns.
- You are between the ages of 18 and 35
- You are pre-menopausal and at risk for pregnancy
- You are in good general health
- You have regular menstrual cycles
Qualified participants will receive all study related medical exams and laboratory services at no charge and will be compensated up to $470 for their time and travel.
