About me

Dr. Robinson is accepting new sports medicine patients.

Dr. Sean Robinson is a family doctor whose special interest is sports medicine.

Dr. Robinson was born and raised in Salt Lake City. He took a two-week high school senior trip to Sepamac, Guatemala, where he taught basic first aid to the village’s Mayan descendants. At the University of Utah, he volunteered for a variety of projects, notably teaching science to a fifth-grade class. He also was a mentor and teacher at the Salt Lake City jail and at the Shriners Hospital.

Dr. Robinson worked as an emergency medical technician during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. While attending medical school in Wisconsin, he volunteered as a manager at the Saturday Clinic for the Uninsured in downtown Milwaukee. He helped implement a new sub-clinic targeting patients with chronic disease to improve their health and access to care. He continued improving access to care, effective care through preventative medicine, and the cost effectiveness of care during his residency at OHSU. After his residency, his love for sports drove him to a fellowship in sports medicine at OHSU.

Dr. Robinson is an avid runner. He loves spending time working out with his wife. Living at the foot of Utah’s beautiful Wasatch Mountains gave him his thirst for outdoor living. He also enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding and hiking.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
