About me

Dr. Strasfeld received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 1992 and a doctorate of medicine from Yale School of Medicine in 1996. Subsequent to completing training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases in New York, she has focused on infections in the immunocompromised host, prevention of healthcare-associated infection in this patient population, and graduate medical education. Dr. Strasfeld founded the Transplant Infectious Diseases group at OHSU when she arrived here in 2006.  Her main programmatic and research interest is the prevention of healthcare-associated infection and opportunistic infections in transplant recipients and other immunocompromised patients. She has contributed original work to the peer-reviewed literature, provided invited review articles and chapters, been an invited author on high-profile guidelines documents, presented at national meetings, and served as site PI on important multi-center studies. Dr. Strasfeld maintains a clinical practice as supervising attending physician at OHSU and the VA Portland Health Care System.
