About me

Jeffrey M. Pollock, M.D., holds the position of Professor of Radiology. He joined the faculty in August of 2008. Dr. Pollock spent most of his training in the southeast, primarily in Alabama and North Carolina, but has always loved the northwest. He attended Vanderbilt University where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in 1997. He then went to the University of South Alabama receiving his M.D. in 2001. He completed his internship in internal medicine in 2002 and a subsequent residency in diagnostic radiology at South Alabama in 2006, serving as chief resident. He then completed a two-year fellowship in neuroradiology at Wake Forest University in 2008. He received his American Board of Radiology certificate in 2006 and his certificate of additional qualification (CAQ) in neuroradiology in 2008.

Dr. Pollock has published almost 60 peer reviewed journal articles, 41 electronic publications, 1 patent application, 7 grants, 6 book chapters, over 100 scientific presentations, and over 85 regional and national lectures. He is primarily interested in advanced clinical MRI applications including but not limited to MR perfusion, arterial spin labeled (ASL) MRI perfusion imaging, functional MRI (fMRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), tractography, and MRI spectroscopy. He also secretly enjoys head and neck imaging. During his career at OHSU he has served as MRI Director, Neuroradiology Fellowship Director, and the Functional MRI Director and was awarded teacher of the year in 2010.

Dr. Pollock is a member of the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology, where he was appointed as a Fellow of the ASFNR in 2020. He is a member of the American College of Radiology where he serves as Neuroradiology Editor for the ACR Case in Point and has served on the ACR Appropriateness Criteria Expert Panel on Neurological Imaging. Lastly, he is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology and an active reviewer for the American Journal of Neuroradiology. He also frequently serves as an expert consultant for many regional and local attorneys with legal questions regarding neuroimaging.

Dr. Pollock has many interests outside of radiology including competitive cycling, triathlons, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, windsurfing, wingfoiling, whitewater rafting, and snowboarding.
