Surgical Pathology, Cytology and Autopsy

The Department of Pathology offers a full range of diagnostic services in Anatomic Pathology that includes Surgical Pathology, Autopsy Pathology, Cytopathology, and Immunohistochemistry.

The Surgical Pathology Service provides complete diagnostic services in adult and pediatric pathology for the OHSU Hospitals and Clinics, Doernbecher Children's Hospital as well as outside consultations. The Surgical Pathology office will assist in answering questions related to Anatomical Pathology Services and provide reports to authorized personnel by phone, fax or written request.

Surgical Pathology can be reached Monday through Friday, 8 am until 5 pm at 503 494-6776. After hours and on holidays the Pathology Resident on call may be reached via the OHSU Paging Operator at 503-494-8211.

The OHSU Cytopathology Service performs a full range of cytology services, providing testing of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens, including the performance of fine needle aspirations of palapable masses by the pathologists. Fine needle aspirations performed by the pathologist and pathology assistant is provided between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Please call to schedule in advance.
