For Cardiovascular Health Care Professionals

We know how important physician-to-physician relationships are to cardiac care. As Oregon's only fully comprehensive heart care program, we partner with providers around the region to care for patients with heart and vascular conditions.

Providers at OHSU work as partners in patient care.

Innovations in Cardiovascular Health report 2022-2023

The OHSU Innovations in Cardiovascular Health 2022-2023 report highlights work in clinical care and research that expands the possibilities for cardiovascular health.

Here’s a look at how we are transforming care for people affected by cardiovascular disease.

  • People with cardiogenic shock get immediate, multidisciplinary attention from OHSU’S Shock Team, which pulls out every stop to save them.
  • Heart patients can now get lifelong care under the umbrella of OHSU’s Knight Cardiovascular Institute, which has expanded its care to all stages of life.
  • The sickest heart patients at OHSU now receive specialized critical care from two cardiologists who are helping establish a new subspecialty, cardiac critical care.
  • The link between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and heart attack risk is becoming better known through the leadership of an OHSU cardiologist.
  • Patients with obesity, who are at risk for heart disease, have newer and better weight loss options at OHSU’s Center for Preventive Cardiology.
